Macaroni & Go Bags

My life cannot go on if I do not have a goal in mind. I spent my whole summer learning how to cook before I got married, so I wouldn't be completely inept going into the kitchen. I was too busy with Diva life growing up, so my mom always had dinner made for me. Now was my time to find my kitchen cooking skills. I have totally dedicated myself to impressing Corry as he is the cheese to my maraconi. My next goal to have the most amazing and organized.....FOOD STORAGE!!

My ultimate goal has been to start my food storage this year. It is hard to build, especially if you are a young couple moving around, but I believe we need to be prepared no matter what. Corry & I just bought a new 2010 Black Dodge Caravan - which I call my "limo" which has awesome extra storage space for things like emergencies! For some reason this topic always seems to keep coming up - always giving me that feeling like I better get on it. Our Relief Society newsletter in the 11th Ward gives us suggestions on what to add on to your storage for that particular month.

January:

Bedding, Salt, Baking Soda, Baking Powder
"Let every head of every household see to it that he has on hand enough good and clothing, where possible fuel also for at least a year ahead."
J. Reuben Clark Jr.

February:

Peanut Butter, Soup, Macaroni & Personal Toiletries
“There is no royal road to anything; careful planning, hard work and determination to reach an objective is the path to success."

I also made personal "Go Bags" for Corry & I. Mine will have a pink tag on it - indicating it is for me (with special shampoos, perfume and make up of course.) I found this GREAT site, listing everything that you should have in your "Go Bags," how much food and water etc.

Hands On = Ring On.

I had never seen anyone so forward. After struttin' my stuff at an Institute dance, Corry invited me over to his house, as his roomies were having a party. The three of us (Sara, Corry and I) hid from the 60 other singles in the house and talked on the balcony. I was going on about how I had a date the next night with some lamer, and Corry pipes up, "You are not going on that date." Umm...scuse me?! Come again? I just started to giggle and kept talking my life away...I had a few interruptions with phrases (more like statements) like, "Cancle your date tomorrow," or "So I'll pick you up tomorrow, " or "Tell him you can't go." I have to admit I kinda liked it...I also had my fun getting him to beg some more.

First date = done and found the one.
6 Months = Engaged.
6 Months later = Married.

Hands On = Ring on.

Good job Corry Webster.

Our Story

When I (Steph) first saw Corry, it was on a Monday night in June 2009, at a Young Single Adult Family Home Evening in the Relief Society Presidents backyard. I walked in late with a couple of friends. The room was incredibly intense and quiet and was a little embarrassed to walk in late. There Corry was, sitting down and teaching the lesson in front of 20 people, with two missionaries on either side of him and the scriptures in his hands. All eyes were glued on him. It was only his first time teaching a church lesson, as he was converting back to the LDS church. I noticed his big, strong arms from workin’ so hard at the oil rigs, and turned to my friend Sara and said, “Who is that?” and she replied, “I have no idea.” Mesmorized by his low, deep voice, his strong, sweet, sincere spirit, I couldn't help to think that he was cute. I remember feeling inspired as he spoke.
I have told this story many times, as it is very special to me. After listening to him teach for a couple of minutes, I suddenly heard a small voice repeat 3 times, "This is your husband." Psh. Ya right. Just because he was cute, doesn't mean he could be mine. I thought I was dreaming. Little did I know that I would marry him in the Cardston Temple the next summer.
